Assata Olugbala Shakur (born JoAnne Deborah Byron; July 16, 1947), whose married name was Chesimard, is an black activist, member of the left-wing Black Liberation Army (BLA), who was convicted of murder in 1977. She escaped from prison in 1979 and fled to Cuba in 1984, gaining political asylum.

It was held in England and Wales from 1 June to 18 June 2017. Pakistan won the competition for the first time with a 180-run victory over India in final at The Oval.

2017 Portugal wildfires

A series of deadly wildfires erupted across central Portugal in the afternoon of the 17th of June 2017, resulting in at least 63 deaths and 135 injured people. The majority of deaths took place in Pedrógão Grande when a fire swept across a road filled with evacuees.
