On 22 May 2017, there was a suicide bombing at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England, following a concert by American singer Ariana Grande. The attacker was Salman Ramadan Abedi, a 22-year-old British Muslim, who detonated a shrapnel-laden homemade bomb at the exit of the arena after the show. Twenty-three adults and children were killed, including Abedi, and 119 were injured, 23 critically.
