Children's Day is celebrated across India to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children. It is celebrated on 14 November every year on the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, sometimes called "Chacha Nehru", the first Prime Minister of India.

Chhath is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival historically native to the Indian subcontinent, more specifically, the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh as well as the Madhesh region of Nepal. The Chhath Puja is dedicated to the Sun and his wives Usha and Sandhya in order to thank them for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes.
