The 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak is an ongoing public health emergency of international concern involving major outbreaks of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) that have spread along with sporadic cases across the world. It is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and was first identified by health authorities in Wuhan, Hubei, China.
