June 2025 Israeli strikes on Iran
On 13 June 2025, Israel attacked targets at more than a dozen locations and cities across Iran. Under the codename Operation Rising Lion, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Mossad damaged key nuclear sites and military installations, killed several of Iran's top military leaders, and killed Iranian civilians. The attack was the largest on Iran since the Iran–Iraq War during the 1980s.
